Dear Applicant,
On behalf of the Mahwah Schools Foundation I would like to commend your efforts to pursue a college education. Your interest in applying for this scholarship shows that you have decided to positively affect your future through higher education. The Mahwah Schools Foundation will award (2) $2,000.00 scholarships in 2009 to MHS graduating seniors.
The members of the Mahwah Schools Foundation believe that through education, every student can meet their potential, no matter what his or her background or circumstances may be. Therefore we are looking for applicants of outstanding character. Recipients need not be a straight-A student, star athletes or club presidents. However, we are looking for bright, well-rounded (to the extent that is possible given their specific circumstances), ambitious students who are planning to pursue a college education to help them realize their full potential. Applicants should keep this in mind while writing their essays.
Keep in mind that most scholarship funds, including ours, are competitive processes. To ensure your application receives full consideration, we suggest you: 1) carefully read the eligibility requirements, 2) fill out the application completely, and 3) submit the application by the deadline.
