Meeting the challenges of today
Mahwah
is one of the fastest growing towns in New
Jersey. We are deeply proud of our town and our schools,
but keeping up with unprecedented growth comes with
many challenges for our school system. More students,
more state mandated programs and a limit to the money
that can be raised through taxes have stretched traditional
resources
to capacity.
In order to meet this challenge, a group of concerned
citizens formed the Mahwah Schools Foundation.
This foundation seeks
alternative ways to fund programs
that might otherwise remain beyond the reach of a hard-
stretched school budget.
MSF purpose
To
encourage, solicit and accept contributions of services, monies
and property for the benefit of the public school children in the
township of Mahwah. To seek and to assist others to seek gifts,
grants, donations, endowments and other contributions from individuals,
corporations, foundations and local, state and federal governments,
their agencies or commissions. Lastly to enter into contracts with
individuals, corporations and other entities under which the foundation
would carry out any and all of the above activities for the benefit
of the foundation.
